SUMMARY:ONE DAY RETREAT – Shinrin-Yoku (Forest Bathing) and Metta practices
DESCRIPTION:Walking mediation in nature\nA Shinrin-Yoku forest bathing walk consists of a series of activities & sits\, designed to help the participants to bathe in the surroundings\, the environment and energy of the forest\, allowing them to slow down\, breathe\, and refocus on their body\, while connecting to their various senses. \nMore than just a nature walk\, the Japanese practice of shinrin yoku\, or Forest Bathing\, is good for both physical and mental wellbeing. It is proven to reduce stress hormone production\, improve feelings of happiness and free up creativity\, as well as lower heart rate and blood pressure\, boost the immune system and accelerate recovery from illness. \nIn 1982\, the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture\, Forestry\, and Fisheries created the term shinrin-yoku\, which translates to “forest bathing” or “absorbing the forest atmosphere.” The practice encourages people to simply spend time in nature — no actual bathing required \nThe benefits of immersing ourselves in nature is many-fold. Research conducted around the world has shown a range of physical benefits\, including: \n\nReduced blood pressure\nReduced pulse rates\nReduced blood sugar\nReduced stress hormones levels\nIncreased white blood cells that fights off infections and cancer\nStrengthened immune systems\nEnhanced mood\n\nWe will also do metta practice.  Metta is loving kindness\, and the practice of sending metta to ourselves and all sentient beings is foundational to our practice.   \nSuggested donation $50.00. No one will be refused participation due to funds. \n\nREGISTER HERE\n\nNot a local? Book lodging with Jordan  at 509.395.2030 / business@tlabbey.com \nThere are various options available\, depending on the event.  1. Trout Lake Abbey B&B private or hostel style rooms.  2. Meditations huts.  3. Futons either in the temple or the Mountain View Room.  4. Camping \nPlease call in advance to inquire about availability.

SUMMARY:Yoga Retreat With Laurie Van Cott
DESCRIPTION:The theme for 2024 is\nAWAKENING!\nCome explore what awakening means for each of us\, and how to access healing and growth through yoga\, the chakras\, meditation\, food\, and self-reflection! \nThis year we will focus on balancing our physical\, emotional\, and spiritual well-being through yoga postures\, dance\, music\, meditation\, and discussion. We will also explore the chakras\, which offer a bridge between our subconscious and conscious actions and thoughts\, allowing us to understand ourselves by opening our minds to our inner sources of inspiration\, personal power\, wholeness\, and transformation. It is a practical system for healing energy imbalances and taking control of our mental and physical health\, which is relevant to all of us today as we navigate to find meaning\, purpose\, and a connection with our shared humanity. \nEach retreat will include: \n\n4 yoga classes with Laurie VanCott\, Gorge Yoga\nA lecture on the chakras and understanding the self\nAn acupuncture group session\nAn evening sound bath\nAll meals are provided by Petra Knapp of Native Provisions.\n\nThere will also be time to relax\, renew\, and reflect by providing opportunities for connection and deep conversation\, journaling\, or walking the grounds of the Abbey. \n“The yoga retreat is magical. The setting is as beautiful and peaceful as the mind can imagine. This quiet space combined with the different experiences of the retreat allow you time to reflect\, to hear your inner voices that are often covered up by the noise of life. \nI left so much lighter\, with insights and tools to help me live my authentic life. and to be able to live more closely to the person I want to be. This experience is a true gift. Laurie is a true gift to our community. A thousand thank yous!” \n~ Deborah T\, Fall 2023 \nCome be in community and honor the light within each and every one of you! \nRegistration is now open! \n

SUMMARY:Spring 2024 Gorge Yoga Wellness Retreat
DESCRIPTION:The theme for 2024 isAWAKENING! Come explore what awakening means for each of us\, and how to access healing and growth through yoga\, the chakras\, meditation\, food\, and self-reflection!\n\nThis year we will focus on balancing our physical\, emotional\, and spiritual well-being through yoga postures\, dance\, music\, meditation\, and discussion. \n \nEach retreat will include: \n\n\n4 yoga classes with Laurie VanCott\, Gorge Yoga \n\n\nA lecture on the chakras and understanding the self \n\n\nAn acupuncture group session \n\n\nAn evening sound bath \n\n\nAll meals are provided by Petra Knapp of Native Provisions. \nThere will also be time to relax\, renew\, and reflect by providing opportunities for connection and deep conversation\, journaling\, or walking the grounds of the Abbey. \n\n\n\n“The yoga retreat is magical. The setting is as beautiful and peaceful as the mind can imagine. This quiet space combined with the different experiences of the retreat allow you time to reflect\, to hear your inner voices that are often covered up by the noise of life. I left so much lighter\, with insights and tools to help me live my authentic life. and to be able to live more closely to the person I want to be. This experience is a true gift. Laurie is a true gift to our community. A thousand thank yous!” \n~ Deborah T\, Fall 2023  \n  \n\n\nOptions for lodging:\n \n\n\nRooms in the B&B \n\n\nSingle-Person Huts  \n\n\nCamping/Van   \n\n\nRegistration  \n

SUMMARY:ONE DAY RETREAT – Shinrin-Yoku (Forest Bathing) and Metta practices\, May 2024
DESCRIPTION:Walking mediation in nature\nA Shinrin-Yoku forest bathing walk consists of a series of activities & sits\, designed to help the participants to bathe in the surroundings\, the environment and energy of the forest\, allowing them to slow down\, breathe\, and refocus on their body\, while connecting to their various senses. Book lodging at 509.395.2030 / business@tlabbey.com \nThere are various options available\, depending on the event.  1. Trout Lake Abbey B&B private or hostel style rooms.  2. Meditations huts.  3. Futons either in the temple or the Mountain View Room.  4. Camping \nPlease call in advance to inquire about availability.
